National Grid retained Northstar to manage the consolidation of its three legacy operation centers into one special purpose facility to accommodate future growth and increase operational efficiency, security, and reliability. Heavy stakeholder engagement was required, including the extensive use of mock-ups, to create buy-in. New real estate standards were implemented, which required change management. The result was a state-of-the-art hardened facility including a 350-person call center, a 2N Data Center, and 3 Control Rooms that were successfully constructed in an occupied building through 12 separate phases.
