National Grid retained Northstar to manage the permitting, design and construction administration, as well as the relocation planning and occupancy implementation of its mission critical, state-of-the-art control room and dispatch center. Northstar engaged stakeholders and maintained precise control of the schedule due to a critical and inflexible “go-live” date. They established a team of internal engineers and graphic designers to define the image and implementation guidelines to create a visual display depicting the SCADA RTU data in a comprehensive and geographically realistic image, which is then presented on a 72’ wide video wall. The resulting project consolidated three territories into one streamline Control Room operation and provides a 2N Data Center supporting a fully redundant Control Room.
