ISO New England (ISO-NE) occupied two leased facilities several miles apart. Significant growth drove the need to improve their facilities and expand and consolidate their operations. Northstar leadership and ISO-NE reviewed multiple potential sites, and determined that the best solution was to purchase ISO-NE’s existing 12-acre, 65,000 SF facility. Northstar leadership then managed the design and construction of the renovation of the existing 65,000 SF facility as well as a new 100,000 SF LEED Gold headquarters located on the site. The site was hardened, facilities were designed with 2N redundancy and the buildings were connected to create a new 24/7 mission critical headquarters. A state-of-the art control room and data center were built and Northstar leadership managed the migration.
