Akamai Security Operations Command Center

To properly manage security risks, Akamai installed a 1,700SF SOCC or otherwise referred to as a Security Operations Command Center. This was just one of the three command centers Akamai installed at their new Cambridge headquarters. While Northstar was retained to manage the overall headquarters project, Northstar also successfully oversaw the planning, design, construction, and equipping of all three.
This command center features three 98” displays that are used to highlight, detect and mitigate DDoS attacks. Within the SOCC, Akamai is able to communicate live, and share data and content with all other Akamai SOCC’s around the globe. The SOCC as well as the other command centers, were all installed and commissioned prior to occupancy. Northstar worked thoroughly with all parties; end users, vendors and the general contractor to ensure an effortless transfer from previous facilities and a successful start-up to the new consolidated headquarters.
