Akamai Network Operations Command Center

Akamai’s new Cambridge Headquarters included three state of the art command centers that Northstar effectively managed the development of. One of the three is a 3,500SF NOCC otherwise referred to as a Network Operations Command Center.
This control center is a 24/7/365 space featuring a 60’ wall of 45 displays used to monitor and analyze real time internet traffic and server output. The NOCC is able to communicate, coordinate, share content live and back-up other Akamai NOCC’s around the globes. This is done through brand new CinneMassive head end and software.
All three of Akamai’s command centers were developed while the rest of the building was under construction. Since the NOCC operates in a 24/7/365 environment, there could not be any downtime from the decommissioning of their old NOCC to the NOCC. Northstar worked diligently to successfully manage the transfer.
