American Campus Communities (ACC) partnered with Northeastern University (NU) to construct new student housing on NU’s campus in Boston.
The 21-story building is owned and operated by ACC on land they have leased from the university. The building provides 825 beds, which count towards NU’s student housing inventory in accordance with NU’s institutional master plan. Northstar was initially engaged by ACC to finalize the project’s permitting phase as their local representative.
Northstar served as the onsite representative managing and executing the project’s construction phase. Responsibilities included team oversight, management of project financials, acting as direct liaison with NU stakeholders, and effectively communicating with all project team members. Additionally, Northstar assisted in the programming and implementation of the piloted ‘Good Neighbor Program’; a platform designed to provide a direct outlet for abutters to channel project-related questions and concerns, contributing to overall project success.
