Women in Construction Week – Recent Hires

During Women in Construction Week we’re featuring women who recently joined Team Northstar!
Northstar is proud to offer opportunities at all levels of project management. In the past year, 66% of Northstar’s new hires have been talented young women. They each offer a unique set of skills and backgrounds.
Ipsitha has been with Northstar since January 2020 and just celebrated her 1-year anniversary with the team. At her start, Ipsitha brought with her 1 year of experience in project engineering and a Master of Science in Facilities Management from Georgia Institute of Technology. As an Assistant Project Manager Ipsitha is currently involved with multiple office renovation capital projects in the life sciences sector and spends most of her time assisting project teams through different phases of the project life-cycle including planning, design, on-site construction administration, closeout and occupancy.
Katie Huckins joined Team Northstar last July 2020 as a Project Coordinator and brought with her 2 years of experience in structural design/engineering and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University. Currently, Katie is involved in the planning, design, and construction of multiple life science projects, ranging from lab fit-outs to a core-shell development of nearly 1 million square feet. She works closely with our life sciences clients to support project programming, procurement of project team, budget, and schedule management.
Gabbi joined Northstar in September of 2020 and brings with her 1.5 years of experience in accounting and finance and a Master of Science in Accounting from Northeastern University. Gabbi is currently working in the life sciences sector and has assisted in the completion of several corporate office improvement projects. She also works alongside the capital projects team of one of our major life sciences clients to streamline financial processes and efficiently execute contracts for ongoing projects.
Danica is the most recent addition to Team Northstar, and comes with 2 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Experience Design from Northeastern University. Since starting at Northstar Danica has taken on several historic building envelope restoration projects for clients in higher education. In addition, Danica has been working alongside our recruiting team to develop a new Co-op program that is set to begin this summer.
