Women in Construction Week – Higher Education

March 2021

Today for Women in Construction Week we’re showcasing Northstar women in Higher Education!

Higher education real estate needs have driven the market in the Boston area for many years leading Northstar to form strong relationships with organizations in the higher education industry. The women of Northstar play a key role in managing projects for our higher education clients ranging from development management to capital projects.

Lisa Bagshaw – “As an OPM I have the opportunity to work with the client to help define their needs and vision for the space & work with the design and construction team to make the vision a reality. Each project is unique so I am constantly challenging my knowledge and being exposed to new things.”

Janet Tse – “Being in project management allows me to see a project through from beginning to end, being involved in all phases of the project including planning, design, construction, and closeout. I have the opportunity to cross-functionally collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors on every aspect of the building. For me, it’s been incredibly meaningful to be able to tackle different challenges every day, delivering successful project completions to meet our clients’ vision.”

Danica Woo – “Since joining Northstar this past January, I have been able to apply all of the technical knowledge I gained in school to representing our higher education clients every day in the field. The relationships I am building with our clients motivate my work each day while also allowing me to work closely and learn from the PM team at Northstar and our partnered designers, engineers and contractors.”
