Jim Hogan Named a Rising Star

May 2023

Northstar’s Jim Hogan was recently featured in the New England Real Estate Journal’s Rising Stars Ones to Watch issue.

Below is an excerpt from what he had to say about the accomplishment he is most proud of and what his mentor, Lee Burneson, had to say about Jim.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment is Jim most proud of?

The redevelopment of the MIT/Kendall Square MBTA Station. For the past five years, I have managed on behalf of MITIMCo the redevelopment of 6,000 SF owned by three parties – MIT, City of Cambridge, and the State of Massachusetts. Facilitating an atmosphere of problem solving, the team was challenged with a complex entitlements process resulting in multiple granting authorities: structure permitted by the state and 160-foot-long canopy permitted by Cambridge. The outcome is a new gateway to MIT’s campus, an enhanced MBTA experience for the community and lifelong relationships with institutional, city, state, and private entities in the real estate industry.
