Tom Fanning

Principal

Tom is a seasoned industry professional with over 35 years of experience as a senior development manager on complex real estate projects and advisory assignments as large as $200 million. His portfolio includes projects in the institutional, corporate, investment development and utility sectors with an aggregate volume more than $750 million. 

Tom’s specific expertise includes large-scale corporate tenant interiors, mission critical, built to suit and construction administration.

Tom earned his BA from Colgate University and his Master’s in Community Planning from the University of Rhode Island. 

Prior to founding Northstar, Tom worked at Spaulding & Slye Colliers and Jones Lang LaSalle for 15 years. He is a member of the Colgate University Presidents Club, and a past board member of the Megansett Yacht Club. Tom’s hobbies include coaching youth basketball, crossfit, skiing, fishing, hunting and swimming. He is 6’8”, lives in Needham, has three great kids and has been married to a wonderful patient woman for 23 years.
