David Girard

Principal

As a Principal, Dave has over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry as a project management professional and engineering consultant. His specific areas of expertise include below grade construction, environmental related projects, institutional residential and program management. Dave has worked on projects as large as $365 million or 435,000 SF in the institutional, corporate and residential sectors.

Prior to founding Northstar, Dave worked at Spaulding & Slye Colliers and JLL where he held the position of Vice President/Associate Director in the development group. He earned his BS degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University and his MS in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical and Environmental concentration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Dave was the Chairman of the design and construction subcommittees for the Winthrop Middle High School, 2011 to 2016, Winthrop Miller Field Athletic Complex, 2016 to 2019, and Winthrop High School Tennis Courts 2020 to 2021.

He enjoys candlepin bowling, rugby, and sailing and is the reigning cardboard boat father daughter race champion of Cottage Park Yacht Club.
