Kamal Sheik: Five Years of Growth and Impact at Northstar
July 2026
We’re proud to celebrate Kamal Sheik’s five-year anniversary with Northstar.
Before joining Northstar, Kamal gained experience as a Junior Architect and Project Coordinator at Haven Architects, as well as working alongside his family at Farmaish Interiors. These early roles gave him a practical, collaborative approach and helped him develop a reputation for thoughtful problem-solving. Kamal earned his master’s in construction management from Purdue University and his bachelor’s in architecture from Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India. He is a Registered Architect in India and a LEED Green Associate, demonstrating his passion for outstanding, sustainable design.
With over eight years of experience in the A/E/C industry, he is currently supporting a building repositioning project and speculative lab and office suite projects. From early planning and design through construction and occupancy, he plays a key role in guiding projects forward. Throughout his career, Kamal has built a strong foundation in both the technical and collaborative sides of project management.
Kamal notes that working across complex projects often requires balancing competing priorities, evolving client needs, and tight timelines. One of the most important parts of his role is keeping teams aligned and projects moving forward, even as conditions change. Drawing on his background in architecture and project coordination, he approaches challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset, focusing on clear communication and collaboration to deliver successful outcomes.
What excites Kamal most about his work is the opportunity to see projects come to life from concept through completion. He enjoys being part of a collaborative process that brings together different perspectives to create functional, high-quality spaces that meet client needs and enhance the user experience.
Kamal’s most notable role currently includes serving as Owner’s Project Manager for Clarion Partners on the building repositioning project at 245 First Street in Cambridge. The team recently celebrated the project’s groundbreaking, a milestone that marks the start of an exciting transformation. The enhanced building will feature a new entry, lobby, and shared amenities, along with key system upgrades. The revitalized space will introduce additions such as a fitness center, a multipurpose conference space, and Triangle Coffee in the atrium lobby.
Recently, Kamal was selected for the 2026 cohort of CoreNet New England’s George M. Conti Young Leaders Professional Development Program, an exciting next step in his career. Through this program, he joins a small group of emerging real estate leaders, gaining valuable mentorship and leadership development opportunities. Kamal is also an active member of CoreNet and contributes to its Emerging Leaders Committee.
Kamal plays an active role in shaping Northstar’s internal culture, particularly in professional growth and development. Through his involvement in both the Business Development Committee and Northstar Academy, he helps create opportunities for the team to learn, share knowledge, and build skills they can apply to their day-to-day project management work. Beyond his project work, Kamal is always ready to jump in and be part of the Northstar community. He recently volunteered at the Special Olympics through the firm’s charitable initiatives and took on the Spartan Race at Fenway Park with colleagues, tackling challenges in support of the American Cancer Society. Whether on a job site or at a team event, he brings energy, positivity, and a strong sense of teamwork.
Outside of the office, Kamal’s adventurous spirit shines. He enjoys photography, cricket, travel, and outdoor activities, and has completed a rock-climbing course.
Thank you, Kamal, for your five years of hard work, dedication, and positive impact at Northstar. We look forward to what is ahead.
