What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? The professional initiative I am most proud of is my role as OPM for the 75 Broadway development. The accomplishment lies in assembling and supporting a phenomenal team of top-tier professionals (developer, tenant, design team, contractor) who are the best in the field. My role is to serve as a member of the central nervous system, proactively solving complex problems—from managing approvals to brokering technical consensus—to keep the project on schedule and within budget. The success of this initiative provides essential risk mitigation for the client’s investment, significantly elevates the firm’s reputation, and ultimately injects economic vitality into the community through a future landmark structure.
What is one major challenge you’ve overcome as a leader, and what did it teach you? One major challenge I overcame as a leader was delivering the Skating Club of Boston project during the pandemic. Faced with supply disruptions and changing safety protocols, I focused on leading with a calm and adaptable demeanor throughout the process making sure to restructure workflows, maintain morale, and ensure an on-time, on-budget project completion. The experience taught me how important transparent communication, trust, and agility are when leading teams through uncertainty and striving for excellence under pressure.
How do you inspire, motivate, or mentor others within your organization? I inspire and motivate others by leading through action and creating opportunities for growth. Through founding Northstar Academy, our firm’s professional development platform, I’ve built a culture of continuous learning that has trained over 50 team members and strengthened collaboration, accountability, and excellence. I mentor colleagues directly, offering guidance and feedback that empowers them to reach their potential. My focus on innovation, communication, and shared success fosters both individual and organizational advancement.
What advice would you share with emerging professionals striving to become future leaders in commercial real estate? My advice is to lead from the front by embracing new challenges with determination and accountability. Strive to be both an achiever and an innovator by fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. Invest in developing others by sharing your knowledge, mentoring your peers, and building systems that strengthen your team.
What book, podcast, or app has most influenced your approach to leadership? Never Split the Difference helped me lead by listening, asking questions, and building team trust.
