A Year of Recognition: CoreNet Awards and Leadership Milestones at Northstar
May 2026
Recognized for Project Excellence
We’re excited to share that Northstar has had a standout year, receiving recognition from the CoreNet Global New England Chapter. These honors highlight the dedication of our team and the impact of our work across the corporate real estate industry. Every year, the CoreNet Global New England Chapter’s Awards of Excellence gala brings together end users and service providers to celebrate the people and projects making a difference in the built environment.
This year, three projects supported by Northstar earned CoreNet Awards, showing how our work makes a difference in some of the region’s most complex workplaces and life sciences spaces. The winning projects were Biogen‘s 75 Broadway Global Headquarters (Deal of the Year), Sanofi M Station (Best New Workplace Outside of New England), and Takeda Pharmaceutical‘s Global Learning Center (Best New Small Workplace).
The Role of Owner’s Project Management
As an owner’s project management firm, Northstar helps turn strategy into action, serving as the owner’s representative and guiding decisions through every stage of a project. We work side-by-side with our clients, acting as an extension of their teams from concept to completion. By bringing together architects, contractors, consultants, and end users, we keep everyone aligned, streamline decision-making, and help ensure predictable results.
These award-winning projects demonstrate owner’s project management in action, aligning teams, navigating priorities, and ensuring that design, schedule, and budget stay connected throughout every phase of delivery.
Leadership Recognized Within the Industry
Beyond celebrating our projects, we’re equally proud to recognize our team members’ achievements within the community.
Katherine Kenney, a 10-year member of CoreNet New England, was named Emerging Leader of the Year and appointed to the organization’s Board of Directors, highlighting her rising leadership in the corporate real estate industry. For the past four years, she has played an active role on the Programs + Properties Committee, serving as Co-Chair this year and helping to create and deliver programs that bring people together to tackle industry challenges. Through her efforts, Katherine exemplifies leadership: thinking strategically, building alignment, and driving results.
We’re also celebrating Denise Pied, who received the Doug Noonan President’s Award, one of CoreNet New England’s highest honors, and is presented at the President’s discretion. This award recognizes Denise’s years of leadership and service. For more than a decade, she has made an impact through Board leadership, the Education Committee, and as an early member of the Leadership 2.0 Program. She was also a past participant in the chapter-sponsored CREST Mentorship Program. Year after year, Denise has helped strengthen the chapter’s programming and member experience.
Investing in the Next Generation
Ipsitha Bayapu completed CoreNet’s Young Leaders Leadership 2.0 Program as part of the 2025 cohort, a selective group created to develop rising professionals in corporate real estate. As part of the program, she contributed to a capstone panel discussion exploring how life sciences funding influences Massachusetts’ economy and real estate landscape.
Looking Ahead
Looking across all the recognition this year, one thing stands out: successful outcomes in corporate real estate depend on strong owner’s project management and the people behind it. We’re proud of our teams, grateful to our clients, and honored to be part of a community that keeps raising the bar.
